In 2008, Mike Candys became widely known in Switzerland with the song “La Serenissima”. In 2009 he found success again after collaborating with Jack Holiday on a remix of Faithless’ song “Insomnia”, which reached the top 10 in several European singles charts.[2] His third single, “People Hold On”, peaked at number four in the European dance charts in 2010 and was followed by “Together Again”, which helped him gain international recognition. In 2011, he topped the charts with “One Night in Ibiza”,[3] a track containing elements of 1990s eurodance, alternating between female vocalist Evelyn Zangger and rapper Patrick Miller. The song was a response to compatriot DJ Antoine’s “Welcome to St. Tropez”. In March 2012, she released “2012 (If The World Would End)”, which immediately entered the top 10 in German-speaking countries, making it her most successful single to date.
